Here is Taiwan, as seen by Reid Wiseman from the International Space Station, during nighttime.

The city lights are so bright that they are even visible through thick patches of clouds.

Reid later posted another spectacular night-time photograph showing Western USA.

LA/San Diego is visible in the lower right, with Las Vegas in the center and Phoenix in the top right.
